GALESBURG — The Carl Sandburg College volleyball team made quick work of Lincoln JV on Wednesday night at John M. Lewis Gymnasium, overpowering the Lynx 25-7, 25-6, 25-14 in a match that took barely 45 minutes.

A night after seeing a seven-game winning streak snapped, the Chargers (22-7) never trailed Lincoln and were tied just once — at 1-1 in the third set — while getting all 15 players into the contest.

Sophomore Peyton Bowman (Sciota, Ill./West Prairie), who earlier in the day had been named the NJCAA Division II Offensive Player of the Week and the American Volleyball Coaches Association Two-Year College Player of the Week, put down 15 kills on 16 attempts for an .875 hitting percentage in addition to a pair of blocks.

Sophomore libero Emily Bloomer (Burlington, Iowa/Burlington) had team highs of 12 digs and four aces for Sandburg, and setter Cora Vyhnanek (Sciota, Ill./West Prairie) had 34 assists.
