Head Start are looking to fill part time bus driver positions.
The school Head Start is focusing on filling these jobs is in Abingdon. Head Start will pay a prospective driver to enroll in CDL classes if they do not have a license.
Family Advocate in Galesburg Jenny Cox says working hours for bus drivers vary:
“We have some bus drivers do eight routes a day and the routes can be anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. It varies. But, they get paid on a per-run basis, so each run, regardless if it’s 20 minutes or an hour, is a flat fee.
We have some bus drivers who only do a morning pick up, and an evening drop off”
Cox and Head Start Director Mary Reed say they are “actively” looking for a bus driver in Abingdon.
