Michael K. Manuel, 59, of Gerlaw, IL, passed away at 7:35 a.m., October 1, 2019 at his home.

He was born on August 3, 1960 in Monmouth, IL, the son of William Scott and Frieda Ann (Jones) Manuel.  Michael was raised and educated in Henderson County and attended Union High School.

Mike married JoAnn Kay Doyle on December 11, 1998 in Burlington, IA; she survives. 

Mike worked for many years as a self-employed truck driver. He loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles and big trucks.  Most of all, Mike loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

Surviving him is his wife, JoAnn Kay Manuel of Dakota City, IA; his children, Michael (Nicole) Manuel of Mt. Prospect, IL, Heather Manuel of North Henderson, IL; step daughter, Jennifer (Chad) Lang of Dakota City, IA; grandchildren, Cameron Manuel, Savannah Manuel, Kenzington Manuel, Kennedy Manuel, Evelynn Manuel, Max Lang, and Noah Lang.  Also surviving is his mother, Freda Stratton of Monmouth, IL; his brother, Matthew (Carmen) Manuel of Coppers Cove, TX; nephew, Justin Manuel; and nieces, Samantha Manuel and Daniela Diaz. 

He was preceded in death by his father, William Scott Manuel, and sister, Marcy Manuel.

Cremation has been accorded; no visitation or services are planned.  Memorials can be made to the Michael Manuel Memorial Fund, C/O McGuire & Davies Funeral Home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
