Elsewhere around the area tonight….

The Mercer County Golden Eagles (5-3) can lock up a spot in the postseason by getting a over Mid-County (2-6) in Oneida.

Other teams that can lock up a spot with a 6th win include Abingdon-Avon (5-3) with a victory over the Peoria Heights/Quest co-op (0-8), Orion (5-3) with a win over Morrison (8-0) and Kewanee (5-3) with a win over Spring Valley Hall (6-2).

Macomb (0-8) is still looking for its first win on the season as they welcome Lincoln (3-5) to town. It will be senior night for the Bomber seniors and their parents.

Other games including local teams tonight include Galesburg (2-6) at Sterling (8-0) and BPC/WP (3-5) vs. Lewistown (4-4) in Bushnell.

There’s a great week 9 matchup in Knoxville that could have playoff seeding implications. The host Blue Bullets are (8-0) and have probably already clinched a home game in week one of the playoffs but they will be taking on (7-1) Farmington, who would most likely clinch a home game with a road win.

Saturday:

The Monmouth College Fighting Scots (3-2) go to Mt. Vernon, Iowa for a Midwest Conference South Division game against Cornell College (2-4). Due to Cornell’s Homecoming festivities, the kickoff will be an hour later than normal at 2:00. Our AM 1330/FM 94.1 WRAM pregame show will start at 1:40.
