Ralph F. Elliott, 97, of Monmouth, IL passed away 6:40 p.m. Tuesday
October 22, 2019 at the Monmouth Nursing Home. Ralph was born on August 5, 1922 in Lenox Township in rural Monmouth, IL. He was the youngest child of W. E. and Harriet (Brooks) Elliott.

He was raised on the farm and attended West Prairie School and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1941. After high school, being the youngest son, he stayed back to help on the farm while his brothers served in WW II. Ralph married Frances Gillen at the Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth on February 9, 1948. Frances and Ralph enjoyed 68 years of marriage together. Ralph and Frances, in their early years, lived on the farm west of Monmouth in Hale Township. In 1959 they moved to the farm south of Monmouth in Lenox Township where they lived and worked together for the next 60 years. In 1976 Ralph brought his three sons, Rob, Rick, and Dan, into the farm business and it continues today.

Ralph was a member of the Warren County Farm Bureau, Illinois Corn and Soybean Associations, and was instrumental in the development and growth of the Warren County Prime Beef Festival where he served as parade Grand Marshall at the age of 92. He served as a local election judge for many years and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Ralph worked tirelessly behind the scenes at many local events and activities never worrying about recognition but more interested in the greater good.

Grandpa Ralph, as he came to be known, was an active follower of his
kids and grandkids. He was very proud of their collective accomplishments. He watched in amazement as his group of great-grandchildren grew. He was quite gratified with the legacy he could leave behind.

He is survived by, three sons, and a daughter: Rob and Steph Elliott of Cameron, IL, Rick and Kathy Elliott of Monmouth, IL, Dan and Sue Elliott of Cameron, IL plus Sarah and Jim Morrison of Zionsville, IN. Grandchildren and Great – Grandchildren are: Erik Elliott of Miami, FL, Jared and Jessica Elliott, Mason and Piper of Naperville, IL, Rob and Leslie Elliott, Jaden and Luke of Berwyn, PA, Gina and Tim Meister, Drew, Delaney, and Hudson of Charleston, IL, Kate and Billy Johnson, Maverick of Alexis, IL, Emily and Aaron Guerrettaz, Isaac of Chatham, IL, Peter Elliott of Des Moines, IA, Jennifer Elliott of Naperville, IL, Michelle Elliott of Chicago, IL, Doug and Erin Elliott, Milly, Huntley, Foster, and Harrison of Monmouth, IL, Greg and
Carissa Elliott, Reese, Ansley, and Jo Lucille of Monmouth, IL, Danielle
and Ryan Burnell, Corbin, and Harper of Lebanon, IN, Kaitlyn Morrison of
Oakland, CA, Jimmy Morrison of Denver, CO. He is survived as well by
numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his wife Frances of 68 years, his parents, sisters – Zelda, Arlene, Merle, plus brothers Marshall, Raymond, Charlie, Fred, and Carl.

A Mass of the Christian Burial is planned on Monday October 28, 2019 at
10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church of Monmouth. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. His family plans a Rosary and
visitation on Sunday October 27, 2019 with the Rosary starting at 2:00
pm followed by his family receiving friends there after at Turnbull
Funeral Home in Monmouth. Memorial funds have been established for
either the Monmouth Nursing Home or Immaculate Conception School. To
