Mr. Richard Lee “Chicken” Woolsey, 59, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 7:35 pm Monday, October 14, 2019 at his home.
He was born November 23, 1959 in Galesburg the son of V. David “Blackie” and Dorsey Holmes Woolsey. He married Lori Moore.
Chicken is survived by his children, Andrew (Sonia) Woolsey and Stacey Woolsey both of Galesburg; his two brothers, Ken (Alane) Woolsey of Lewiston, Idaho and Daniel (Susan) Woolsey of Chetek, Wisconsin; two sisters, Rhonda (Clint) Spangler of Galesburg and Kathy Guldenzopf of Alexis, Illinois; his granddaughter, his grandson; several nieces and nephews and his companion and rescue dog, Bella. Chicken is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Henry Dean Woolsey.
Chicken worked for the former Briggs Pottery in Abingdon, he also had worked for NAIER. Chicken had a true love for cars and NASCAR racing. He was a member of the Western Illinois Antique Automobile Club. Chicken enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Chickens life will continue at Harley’s Pub and Reception Hall, 2243 Grand Avenue. Cremation will follow visitation. Graveside services will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
