Robert L. Garland, 90, of Monmouth, formerly of Little York, IL, passed away at 4:05 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL. 

He was born on December 7, 1928 in Little York, IL, the son of Joe and Jennie (Craig) Garland.  Bob was raised and educated in Little York and graduated from Little York High School in 1946.

Bob married Mildred Campbell on November 20, 1947 at Mildred’s parents’ home in Little York, IL; she survives.

Bob farmed all of his life in the Little York area.  He was a past member of the Little York Lions Club and the Yorkwood School Board.  He was a member of the First Christian Church in Monmouth.  Bob and Mildred enjoyed traveling in the winters to Florida and Arizona. 

Surviving Bob is his wife, Mildred Garland of Monmouth, IL; four children, Linda (Tim) Larson of Poynette, WI, Karen (Scott) Gibson of Little York, IL, Kathy (Dean) Krug of Platte City, MO, Brad (Gayla Spence) Garland of Little York, IL; his grandchildren, Tara (Rob) Carr, Amy (Jeff) Koch, Shawna (Aaron) Grier, Travis (Rachel) Gibson, Ryan (Sarah) Larson, Darren (Bobbi) Krug, and Garth (Nicole) Gibson.  Also surviving are seventeen great grandchildren; one sister, Joan Gertz of Mesa, AZ, numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jack Garland.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2019 at the funeral home.  Memorials can be made to Easterseals or Monmouth Nursing Home.
