Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 6, 2019:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys golfer, Reese Kane. Reese tied for 19th with an 18-hole score of 92 at the West Central Conference championship meet at Westview Golf Course in Quincy. He also led the Titans in scoring at the Class 2A regional meet at Westview with a 94.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Cade Whitsitt. Cade rushed for 107 yards on 29 carries in the Red Storm’s first win of the season over Stark County. He reached the endzone on three of those 29 carries. Cade also had a pass reception for 11 yards for good measure.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is freshman girls golfer, Elaina Fisher. Elaina shot an 18-hole score of 92 at the Lincoln Trail Conference’s Railsplitter Championship Tournament. That score was good enough to put her in 3rd place overall and earn her a spot on the All-Conference team.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior girls cross country runner, Natalie Kern. Natalie was the highest finishing Tornado runner in the Prairieland Conference championship meet at Lake Storey in Galesburg. She crossed the finish line in a time of 24:30.43 for 19th place finish out of 57 runners.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is freshman boys golfer, Jason Runbom. Jason carded an 18-hole total of 79 at theWestern Big Six Conference championship meet at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island. That score was good enough to put him in 3rd place overall individually, earning Jason first team All-Western Big Six Conference honors.
