Betty Joan Horn, 87, of Galesburg, died at 4:51 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019 in the Emergency Room at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Joan was born September 23, 1932 in Galesburg, the daughter of Charles and Allie (Edelman) Bailey, Sr.  She graduated from Alexis High School in 1950 and Brown’s Business College in 1952.  Joan worked at Fidelity Federal for several years, she then worked at Hornsby’s, and last worked as the Head CSM at Wal-Mart, retiring in 2011. 

Joan is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Kirk) Dunn of Blue Springs, MO and Denise (Brad) Patterson of Mexico, MO; and four grandsons, David Dunn, Brian Dunn, Jacob (Ashley) Patterson, and Joshua Patterson.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jane and Martha; two brothers, Richard and Junior; and one granddaughter, Kelly Dunn.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, IL, Pastor Brian Beert will officiate.  Memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
