Blues Revue Coming to Bishop Hill

Bishop Hill Creative Commons hosts LIVE BLUES! As the Christmas season begins, experienced professional performers will provide an afternoon of upbeat Acoustic Blues music. The performers, David Berchtold, Chris Stevens and Greg Weinberg will present a show of both original and cover tunes at the Bishop Hill Creative Commons, Sunday, December 1, 2019.

Located at 309 N. Bishop HiIl, the Creative Commons will welcome David Berchtold with special guests Chris Stevens & Greg Weinberg.

Relax and enjoy the sound of live acoustic music. Starting at 3:30 PM and running through 5:30 PM the show offers listeners the opportunity to listen to authentic Blues music performed by experienced professionals.

David Berchtold – 4:30 to 5:30 PM – has played the guitar for more than 40 years and covers a wide range of folk, rock and blues. His skill has brought him to shows all across the region including opening for Joe Bonamassa. His specialty? Piedmont Blues style fingerpicking with influences such as Scrapper Blackwell, Blind Blake, Curley Weaver, Leroy Carr, Pink Anderson, Brownie McGhee. Berchtold will perform a combination of well-known standards and original songs.

Chris Stevens – acoustic guitar / vocals & Greg Weinberg / bass – 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM – perform a combination of West Side Chicago ‘Gut Bucket’ as well as Delta Blues. Chris, who counts Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton and Freddie King as influences, scored a #5 on WERG-FM, Erie, PA with the blues-rock cover of the Ides of March “Vehicle.” Greg, a highly skilled player, has toured the entire midwest in several popular bands. Stevens and Weinberg will perform standard Blues songs as well as brand new original songs from their latest CD – “Shades of Blue.”
