Charles D. Colley, age 81, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away at 9:15 pm
on November 16, 2019 at his residence in Oquawka, Illinois. Charles was
born on February 10, 1938 in Oquawka and is the son of Gordon John and
Ida Louise Nelson Colley. He was raised in Oquawka where he attended
local schools. Charles served his country in the U.S. Navy as an
electrician for four years, and traveled the Mediterranean Sea twice on
a minesweeper, the USS Sagacity. After his service he married Judy Ann
Bielser on October 14, 1960 in Stronghurst, Illinois. She preceded him
in death on September 7, 2012. Charles was a life-long mechanic and
owned and operated his own Gas Station in Oquawka, Illinois. He was also
employed and retired from J. I. Case Company in Burlington, Iowa. He and
Judy were known as the best grandparents ever, always there for their
grandchildren. Charles was an animal lover, an exceptional mechanic, and
a gentle and loving father and husband. He was a private man, but would
be the first to help anyone in need. He enjoyed playing practical jokes
on his friends in his younger years and always shared his sense of humor
with his family. Charles is survived by three daughters; Jill
Colley-Knotts and Steve, Susan Bundy and Kenny, and Jane Alexander and
Brett. There are five grandchildren, Kyle Bundy, Allison Bundy, Wade
Alexander, Benjamin Alexander and Meredith, and Emma Alexander. Two
sisters are surviving, Ann, Colleen, and, one brother, Dennis. Charles
is preceded in his death by his parents, wife Judy, one daughter, Laurie
and five siblings.

A graveside funeral service for Charles D. Colley is planned for
Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Oquawka Cemetery.
Interment with military honors will be in the Oquawka Cemetery. A
memorial fund is being established for the Charles Colley Memorial Fund
established at the Midwest Bank of Oquawka, Illinois. For more
