MONMOUTH, IL – Monmouth ran their win streak in the Bronze Turkey game to 21 straight with Saturday’s 31-3 win over Knox at April Zorn Memorial Stadium.

Sophomore quarterback Walker Dycus threw for 228 yards and one TD while Devin Lawrence and Henderson Francois combined for 267 rushing yards and three touchdowns to rack up 521 yards of offense. Meanwhile, the Scots defense kept the Prairie Fire in check, limiting the visitors to 123 total yards.

Francois put the Scots on the boards first with a six-yard run to cap a 42-yard drive before Knox answered with a 15-yard field goal on their ensuing possession. Monmouth then rolled off three straight TDs, the last a 79-yard romp by Lawrence on the first snap of the second half.

The teams traded turnovers throughout the day, combining to lose six of the afternoon’s eight fumbles. Monmouth also picked off the Fire three times, but none of the turnovers were converted into points.

Monmouth improves to 71-50-10 in the series which began in 1888 and claims the Midwest Conference South Division title outright. They will host St. Norbert Nov. 16 for the MWC Title and automatic NCAA Berth. The Green Knights claimed the North crown with a 34-20 win over Lake Forest. It will be the second meeting this season between Monmouth and St. Norbert. The Scots took the first meeting at home 34-14 on Sept. 28. Kickoff for the Championship is moved up to a noon kickoff.
