Patricia Ann Hillier, 84, of Galesburg, died at 11:24 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2019 at home.

Pat was born December 30, 1934 in Galesburg, the daughter of Paul Patrick and Mary Frances (Besser) Doherty.  She married Jack Wessels, together they had four sons.  She later married Richard Hillier on December 13, 1984 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on February 19, 2013.  Pat is survived by her four sons, Mike Wessels and Doug Wessels both of Galesburg, Greg Wessels of Allyn, WA, and Bruce Wessels of St. Louis, MO; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by three brothers, Bob Doherty of Cypress, CA, Ed Doherty of Edmonds, WA, John Doherty of Springfield, and Mike Doherty of Galesburg; and three sisters, Mary Cokel of East Moline, Helen Kilby and Rita Hultquist both of Galesburg.  Along with her husband Richard, Pat was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one great granddaughter.

Pat first worked at Maytag in Galesburg.  She then went on to work as a CNA at Galesburg Research Hospital, and spent her last years working as a CNA in Moline, until her retirement.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Private family burial of cremated remains will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.   Memorials may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
