Sandburg Men’s Basketball Gets Votes for 2nd Straight Week in NJCAA Rankings

GALESBURG — For the second week in a row, the undefeated Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team was among others receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Division II rankings, released Monday afternoon.

The Chargers (5-0) were one of eight teams outside of the top 20 that received votes. Sandburg finished with five points in this week’s voting, up from three the previous week.

The Chargers picked up three victories last week, winning 94-52 against St. Ambrose JV on Monday, 65-41 at Monmouth JV on Wednesday and 80-60 over Madison on Saturday. Sandburg has won its first five games by an average score of 82-56. The Chargers rank second in the nation in points allowed per game.

Sandburg travels to Jacksonville to face Illinois College JV at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19th.
