Vera Faye Lasley, 89, of Galesburg died peacefully at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Aperion North, Galesburg.

Vera was born September 1, 1930 in Dayton, OH the daughter of Samuel and Hazel Melinda (Nickerson) Kremer.  She married Leland Lasley in 1968 in Cameron, IL.  He preceded her in death in 1991.  Vera is survived by one son, Kit Isherwood of Henderson; two daughters, Debora Nanninga of Kewanee and Donna Vanskike of Monmouth; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.  Along with her husband and parents, Vera was preceded in death by one daughter, Diane Kane; three brothers; and one sister.

Vera was in the first graduating class of LPN’s from Carl Sandburg College.  She worked for many years at Knox County Nursing Home and Galesburg Cottage Hospital.  Vera helped found Stone-Hayes and was instrumental in bringing Compassionate Friends to Galesburg.  She was an active volunteer at many places throughout the years.  Vera was the Pilot Club Volunteer of the year in 1988 and was an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Vera also was a crisis intervention leader at Bridgeway for several years and was known as Miss Rainbow around town.

Cremation rites will be accorded and no services are planned.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made in Vera’s memory to Stone-Hayes, 39 N.
