Ecumenical Singers Performing 40th annual Concert Sunday

Share

The Ecumenical Singers are hosting their 40th annual Christmas performance on Sunday, December 22 at four pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

The Singers, who will have approximately 65 to 70 singers at the performance, have been performing since 1979. The Ecumenical Singers have performers from multiple denominations.

Ecumenical Singers Founder Leo Ramer tells the history of how the performers got their start:

“I worked for Bishop O’Rourke for the Diocese in Peoria and I was on the Worship Commission. And in those days the word Ecumenical was a big movement to get doors open amongst the Christian churches to capitalize on the things they had in common instead of their differences. One of the things we could capitalize on was music!”

The performance is free-of-charge but free-will donations will be accepted.
