The Second Annual Christmas on the Square event in Downtown Monmouth will take place this Friday, December 6th from 5 to 7 pm. Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy Patterson highlights activities to partake in that evening:

“Most if not all of the businesses on the square will be open. A lot of them will have food, so will have crafts for the kids to do, and games for the kids to do. I know the Library will be open. The Extension at 4-H will be out there with games and activities for the kids. Stanton Insurance will have games and food. The Courthouse will be open, which is where Santa will be. The Crossing will have a live Nativity. We will have our carriage rides again. Various groups of kids will be walking around caroling and there will be a Christmas Tree walk in Pattee Park,” Patterson shares.

Roads around the Square will be closed from Archer down to Turnbull Funeral Home and also 1st Street and A Street beginning around 4 pm on Friday.
