RIVER FOREST, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men’s basketball team fell to Dominican on the road on Friday night.

Knox took an early 11-6 lead, but the Stars quickly knotted the score up at 12-12. Dominican took the lead for most of the rest of the half, but only led by as much as six. The Prairie Fire worked their way back from a deficit to head to halftime tied 35-35.

After some back-and-forth early in the second half, Knox held an advantage for much of the half. However, the Stars took a lead with 6:03 to play and quickly built up a double-digit lead to hold on for the victory.

Ethan Meeker led the Prairie Fire with 30 points on 11-of-22 shooting, including a 5-for-13 showing from long-range. Jordan Rayner added 13 points on 3-of-6 from three. Zach Lowe tacked on seven points and 11 rebounds.

“We played another tough game against a good opponent,” said head coach Ben Davis. “We are still improving every game and I am excited to see what we can do with the rest of the conference season.”

The Prairie Fire fell to 4-5 on the season, but are off to their best start since the 2004-05 season. They will look to continue their hot start when they return from holiday break on January 3 as they host Ripon.
