Rose M. McIntyre, age 82, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 10:44 AM
on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Aperion Care North in Galesburg,
Illinois. She was born in August 13, 1937 in Mercer Township, Illinois,
the daughter of James R. and Myrtle (Stearns) Currie. Rose attended
Keithsburg High School and graduated with the Class of 1955. On February
29, 1964, she married William P. “Phil” McIntyre in Rock Island,
Illinois, and he preceded her in death on November 18, 1985.

From 1986-1999, Rose worked for Automatic Vending, servicing Wilson
Food’s, Mariah Packing, and Burlington Northern cafeterias. After
retiring from there, she worked part time at Warren Achievement Center
in Monmouth, Illinois. Rose was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church
in Monmouth. She enjoyed playing solitaire, beadwork, gardening, and
canning vegetables.

Rose is survived by five daughters; Gaynor (Neil) Nylin of Aledo,
Illinois, Gillian (Rick) Tharp of Millersburg, Illinois, Glenda (Tony)
Smallwood of Ravenwood, Arkansas, Jessie Kincaid of Monmouth, Illinois,
and Carrie Jo McIntyre of Alexis, Illinois, one son; Phil McIntyre of
Lewiston, Illinois, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty-one
great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her
husband, her brother, John R. Currie, and one great-grandson.

A funeral service is planned for 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2019
at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Visitation will be from
10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will
be at Monmouth Cemetery. A memorial is being established for the
Shriners Hospital for Children. For more information, or to leave a
