Thelma Cantrell, 68, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 3:29 am Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Legacy Estates, Monmouth, IL. 

Thelma was born August 27, 1951 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Allen and Dollie (Logsdon) Harwood.  Following the death of her father, Thelma was raised by her mother and step-father, Ernest Neal. 

She was raised and educated in Warren County, IL attending Warren High School. 

Thelma married Robert Cantrell Sr. in Monmouth, IL in 1970. 

Thelma worked at Butler Manufacturing in Galesburg for 15 years, retiring in 2005. 

She treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her many friends.  She enjoyed going to the casino and playing cards with her family. 

Survivors include her daughter, Angel (Mike Pepple) Ray of Galesburg, IL; sons, Donald (Courtney) Cantrell of Chillicothe, IL and Rob (Janelle) Cantell of Lemont, IL; her grandchildren; Delaney (Brent) Calhoun, Kerrington, Piper and Lincoln Cantrell, Ian, Sophie and Xander Cantrell, Noah Cantrell, Emmie and Koy Ray; her anticipated great granddaughter, Gemma Calhoun; three sisters, Sue Vestal of Monmouth, Linda (Dale) Hall of Monmouth and Cindy Peterman of FL; two brothers, Terry (Marsha) Neal of Monmouth and Jim (Rita) Neal of Abingdon; several nieces and nephews; along with special friends, Cathy Young of Monmouth and Chris Runge of Parkview, IA. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Harwood, Ernest & Dolly Neal; brother, Rex Harwood, Grandmothers, Agnes McMillen; nephew, Tim Chick and dear friend Cindy Murphy. 

Cremation has been accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be from 12:00-3:00 pm, Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Monmouth American Legion.  Memorials may be given to the Thelma J. Cantrell Memorial Fund.
