Mr. Thomas Leonard Elexander Taylor, 46, of Galesburg died at 1:21 a.m., Sunday, December 22, 2019 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

Thomas was born January 24, 1973 in Galesburg the son of Laura E. Brannon and Lonnie Doss. He was raised by Laura E. and Roy Wright. He married Karysa L. Morris in Galesburg on May 15, 2018.

He is survived by his wife Karysa Taylor of Galesburg, his father Roy (Audrey) Wright of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his children, DaShawn Granger of Kansas City, Kansas; Brian Taylor of Peoria; Kristen Henderson, Sierra Williams. Th’lia Taylor all of Oklahoma City; Thomas Taylor, Jr., Thomize Taylor, Jameilah Brown, Ja’Keilah Morris, Ja’Nylah Taylor, and Ja’Leyah Taylor all of Galesburg. Also surviving are seventeen siblings, John Crosby of Rock Island, Illinois; Charles Taylor of Iowa; Delmar Robertson, Tyree Felder, Michael Taylor, Aaron Wright, Bridgette Hawthorne, Karen Wright, Johnny Wright, Shawn Wright, Zack Wright, Toni McIntosh and Tamisha Wright all of Oklahoma City, Raylynn (Keith) Cunningham of Galesburg; Roy Wright, Jr. and David Wright of Kansas City; Craig Wright of Massachusetts; and two grandchildren; two grandchildren; his Aunt Mayola Boone; his special Uncle Henry Brannon and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, a sister LaRoyshia Wright and a brother Atafo D. Akhimie and his grandparents, Henry and Elizabeth Brannon.

Thomas was a people person, he often enjoyed “counseling” to others and lending advice especially, mentoring those younger then himself. He was a kind and very influential type of person. He loved to laugh, to tell jokes, listen to music and dance while making others laugh. Thomas was considered a “Jack of Trades”, currently working at UPS as a Loader. Thomas loved his Lord first and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He was a family man that loved to spend time with his kids and fellowship with others; he knew no stranger.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the chapel.  Rev. Raylynn and Minister Keith Cunningham will officiate Memorials may be donated to Lighthouse Baptist Church.
