The Warren County Board met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, December 18th. Items discussed and actions taken include:
- Chip Algren, chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee, reported that the committee unanimously recommended that Warren County continue to pursue the option of building a new jail. The options of remodeling the existing jail, adding onto the existing jail or housing prisoners in another county were considered but deemed non feasible.
- Solid Waste Coordinator, Tim Lobdell, said collections are up over last year with Warren County taking in 54 ton of electronics and 10 tons of paint in 2019.
- A resolution to abolish the Jury Commission was adopted. Since the county now has an automated system ensuring a completely random jury pool, the Jury Commission has become redundant.
- A temporary stay on any new large Wind Systems was approved. The moratorium will be in effect for a 12 month period or until the County’s zoning rewrite is completed.
- Sean Cavanaugh was appointed to the 911 committee, replacing John Ockert.
- Department reports were reviewed and approved.
The Board recessed until their next meeting to be held February 12th at 9:30 a.m. in the boardroom of the Warren County Courthouse.
