Iowa Man injured in One vehicle crash in Kirkwood

A Muscatine, Iowa man is facing aggravated DUI charges after a one vehicle crash in Warren County around 5pm Saturday. According to the Illinois State Police, 65-year-old Michael Payne was traveling south on Harding Street in Kirkwood at a high rate of speed when he reportedly crossed the inclined road at a railroad crossing leaving the pavement with all four wheels at North Street. The vehicle landing on Harding Street and went off the road and struck a ditch before ending up in somebody’s yard. Payne was transported to OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. Payne was charged with Aggravated DUI, DUI Alcohol, Reckless Driving, Improper Lane Usage, Failure To Reduce Speed to avoid a crash, disobeying a stop sign and driving while license revoked. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty
