Joint Investigation Yields Arrests for Burglary

On 01/16/2020, Dale A. Knajdek age 44, and Justin A. Dykeman, age 24 were arrested by the Galesburg Police Department on multiple criminal charges from on ongoing investigation.

The Galesburg Police Department and Keokuk Iowa Police Department conducted a joint investigation regarding burglaries and theft of motor vehicles.

Galesburg PD Case – Date: 01/13/2020 – Haneghan’s Auto reported a burglary involving the theft of approximately $9,000.00 in automotive equipment, along with a motor vehicle being stolen from the business.

Keokuk Iowa PD – Date: 01/14/2020 – Keokuk Nazarene Church reported a burglary with items being stolen and theft of motor vehicle.

Galesburg PD Case – Date: 01/16/2020 – First Christian Church reported a burglary with items being stolen and damaged.

On Thursday, January 16, 2020 the Galesburg Police Department executed a search warrant at 1432 E Knox St. Galesburg, Illinois.  During the course of the search warrant, Detectives were able to locate the following:

  • Stolen motor vehicle from Keokuk Nazarene Church
  • Items from the Galesburg First Christian Church 
  • Items from Haneghan’s Automotive

On Tuesday, January 21, 2020 Keokuk Iowa Police Department executed a search warrant on the stolen motor vehicle from Haneghan’s Automotive, which had been recovered in Keokuk, Iowa. During the course of the search warrant, Keokuk Iowa Police Department was able to locate the majority of the stolen items from the burglary at Haneghan’s Automotive.  

As a result of the investigation the following subjects have been arrested:


Dale A. Knajdek– 1432 E Knox St. Galesburg, IL
Burglary and Theft of Motor Vehicle
Burglary to Place of Worship
Possession of Stolen Property
Keokuk, Iowa will have pending charges in their case. 

Justin A. Dykeman– 1432 E Knox St. Galesburg, IL
Burglary to Place of Worship
