Local High School and Junior High Sports Update for Jan 3, 2020



A few high school basketball teams got back on the floor last night. Several of which had not been on the floor since before Christmas. One of those, the Knoxville Blue Bullet boys, knocked the rust off pretty quickly. Knoxville defeated North Fulton 62-23. It was the Prairieland Conference North Division opener for Knoxville, who is now (12-2) with the victory. Jason Hise had 15 for the Blue Bullets. Jake Repp and Ryan Sunderland each had ten points as well for the winners.

On the other hand, the United Red Storm girls basketball team showed a little rust in their 48-22 road loss to North Fulton in a non-conference match up.

In other non-conference girls basketball contests, Williamsville defeated Macomb 64-58. Macomb falls to (4-11) overall.

Lewistown hits nine, 3-pointers in their 80-36 win over Stark County. L-Town remains undefeated at (16-0) on the season. Sydney Shaeffer had 19 points and Anna Heffren had 18.

Illini West had no problem with Farmington, getting a 56-38 win. Illini West is (14-3).

The Quincy Notre Dame girls are (11-0) after their 55-36 non-con win over Mendon Unity.
