Lois J. Keating, 88, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 3:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL.   

She was born on December 2, 1931 in Avon, IL the daughter of Donovan L. and Eula L. (Nance) Myers.  Lois was raised and educated in Avon, IL and graduated from Avon High School in 1949.  She later graduated from Monmouth College in 1953.   

Lois married William B. Keating on December 27, 1953 in Avon, IL; he preceded her in death on February 25, 2005.   

Lois taught at Warren School for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, wood carving, playing cards, dominos, reading, baking, and most of all, spending time with her family.  Lois was a member of the Norwood Presbyterian Church where she served on various committees and offices.  She was a member of Pi Beta Phi, Delta Kappa Gamma, Chapter G PEO in Alexis, was a member of circle and volunteered at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth.   

Surviving Lois are her children, Loretta Keating of Rockford, IL, Clarissa (Michael) Hunt of Galesburg, IL, William C. Keating of Milton, FL; her grandchildren, Kim (Matt) McNeil, Kraig (Alyssa) Hunt, Daniel Keating, Andrea Keating; her great grandchildren, Kendyl, Kaleb & Ava Hunt, Kaitlyn McNeil; sisters-in-Law, Linda Keating of Boulder CO, Gwendolyn Lowe of Iowa City, IA; several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Keating; sister, Shirley Bush; brother, Donald Myers; sisters-in-law, Betty Myers & Joyce Allison; brothers-in-law, James Lowe, David Allison; and three nephews. 

Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  A private family interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL.  Memorials can be made to the Norwood Presbyterian Church or Hospice Compassus.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
