Nine voters cast their ballots on the first day of early voting in the City of Galesburg. Early Voting began on Monday, February 6, 2020, for the March 17, 2020, General Primary Election. Early voting is offered at the office of the Galesburg Election Commission located in City Hall at 55 W. Tompkins Street in Galesburg.
In February, early voting is available from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, and Saturday, from 9:00 am – 12 Noon. In March, early voting is available from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm Monday through Friday and Saturday, from 9:00 am – 12 Noon. The Election Commission will also be open from 10 am – 4 pm on Sunday, March 15, 2020. The last day for early voting is Monday, March 16, 2020.
A government-issued photo ID is not required but is helpful if there is a question about the voter’s registration, address or signature.
Paper sample ballots are available near the City Clerk’s office and at the Election office counter. Sample ballots will be added to the City website soon. The Publication sample ballot has not been received by the election office but it will be published once received.
