Frederic L. Taylor, 88, of Alexis, IL, passed away at 12:10 a.m., Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Courtyard Estates of Monmouth. 

He was born on February 18, 1931 in Maquon, IL, the son of Claude B. and Anna Lucile (Schleich) Taylor.  Fred was raised and educated in London Mills and graduated from London Mills High School in 1948. 

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict from November 14, 1951 to November 11, 1953, when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal.

Fred married Mary Ann Rogers on February 26, 1956 at the Yates City Faith United Presbyterian Church; she survives.

Fred farmed all of his life and served as the Mercer County Township Supervisor.  He served on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors for many years.  Fred enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and sudoku puzzles.  He was a member of Norwood Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and taught Sunday School. 

Surviving Fred is his wife, Mary Ann Taylor of Alexis, IL; two daughters, Susan Taylor of Dubuque, IA and Sarah (Andrew) Beal of Houston, TX.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Berwyn Taylor, Richard Taylor, Ronald Taylor; two sisters, Anna Ruth Young and Victoria Taylor.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2020 at Norwood Presbyterian Church in Alexis, IL.  Interment with Military Honors will be in Norwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Church.  Memorials can be made to the Norwood Cemetery Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
