Mr. Gary D. “Cowboy” Schrock, 66, of Galesburg, Illinois died 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, Illinois.

He was born June 10, 1953 in Geneva, New York to Edward and Mary (Fender) Schrock.  He married Brenda McNall, June 6, 1971 in Aledo, Illinois.  He later married Mary Jo Morgan, April 30, 2005 in Monmouth, Illinois.  She survives. 

Also surviving are his parents, Edward and Mary Schrock of Seaton, Illinois, a son, Casey (and Susan) Schrock of Washington, Illinois, a daughter, Carrie Schrock-Liedtke of Naperville, Illinois, a step son, Jason (and Tara) Benoit of St. Charles, Missouri, a brother, Brian (and Olga) Schrock of Liberty Hill, Texas, a sister, Vickie (and Les) Brown of Seaton and nine grandchildren, Kaylie, Nolan, Emily, Hudson, Jacquie, Max, Brett, Grayson, and Colton. 

Cowboy graduated from Aledo High School in 1971.  He then joined the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1975 and was stationed in Wichita, Kansas.  Gary and Mary Jo owned and operated MGS of Oneida for several years.  He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg.  He was a member of Eliza American Legion Post #1972.  He enjoyed riding motor cycles and was a member and former State Captain for the Patriot Guard Riders.  He was also a member of the Aledo Masonic Lodge.  Cowboy was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his fishing trips with his father.  He was a Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.  Most of all, he love spending time with his grandchildren. 

As Cowboy requested, cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Bethel Baptist Church.  A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Pastor Scott Wilson will officiate and military rites will be conducted by the Eliza American Legion Post #1972 Honor Guard.  Cremation burial will be in the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be made to Eliza American Legion, National Down Syndrome Society or American Heart Association.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
