M-R Girls Basketball Look to Break Record and Win Regionals in One Night

The Monmouth-Roseville girls basketball team tied the record for most wins in a season in the co-op’s history Tuesday, defeating West Hancock and advancing to the Regional Final tonight against Quincy Notre Dame.

The Titans, whose record now stands at 24-7, defeated West Hancock 62-39 in their first regional game in Rushville. Head Coach Scott Weber says his team handled high preseason expectations well this season:

“They’ve come in and raised the bar to the expectation that every time we take the floor, we expect to win. Obviously it hasn’t worked seven times, but 24 times it’s worked and that’s an incredible number for us. we’re very, very proud of it.

They’ve come in and have worked hard and we’re looking to extend that. We don’t want it end – nobody does – but we’re going to take it one game at a time and go out and do the best we can. Hopefully that results in a win and if it doesn’t let’s leave it all on the floor, but we’re going to go out there and it give our best.”

The Titan Girls came up short on Thursday, losing 60-43 to Quincy Notre Dame.
