Pauline E. Ortery, age 87, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 8:43 PM
on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in
Monmouth, Illinois. She was born October 14, 1932 in Keithsburg,
Illinois, the daughter of Freeman and Julia Robbins. She was raised and
attended school in Keithsburg. On April 7, 1951, Pauline married Harry
“Junior” Ortery in Monmouth, Illinois and he preceded her in death on
August 22, 2004. Pauline worked as a waitress at many restaurants
including the Blue Lantern in Oquawka, Illinois and the Filling Station
in Monmouth. She enjoyed playing Bingo, gambling at the casinos, and
puzzle books. Mostly, she loved her family.

Pauline is survived by three daughters; Pam (Sam) Strange of Des Moines,
Iowa, Ronda (Scott) Bethell of Branson, Missouri, and Susan (Dennis)
Bethell of Monmouth, Illinois, three sons; Doug (Tammy) Ortery of
Newport News, Virginia, Bruce (Jean) Ortery of Andalusia, Illinois, and
Bill (Mary) Ortery of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by
numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sons;
Craig, Jim, and Brad.

As were Pauline’s wishes, cremation is being accorded. Entombment and
memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 5,
2020 at the Warren County Memorial Park Mausoleum. Her family will
receive friends at Turnbull Funeral Home from 9:00-9:45 AM prior to the
memorial service. A memorial fund is being established for Monmouth
