Richard Paul “Dick” Wignall, 85, of Altona, died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Heartland Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg.

Dick was born December 7, 1934 in Galesburg, the son of Russell Raymond and Inez Ellen (Reeves) Wignall.  He married Ginger Sands.  Dick later married Ellen Louise Mitchell on February 6, 1995 in Cambridge.  Dick is survived by his wife, Ellen; three sons, Jeff (Sharon) Wignall, Marc (Carol) Wignall, and Mike (Kodee) Wignall all of Alliance, NE; one daughter, Debbie Wignall of Galesburg; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his step-children, Cathy Carnes of Galesburg, Rodney Weedman of Monmouth, Buddy (Denise) Weedman of Oswego, Betsy Lydy of Oquawka, and Missy Hilligoss of Abingdon.  Along with his parents, Dick was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean and Russell Wignall; and one sister, Evelyn Wilson.

Dick worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as an engineer for 40 years, retiring in 1994.  An avid sportsman, Dick enjoyed trap shooting, midget car racing, was a certified pilot and taught himself how to sail.

Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Cremation will be accorded following visitation.  No funeral services are planned.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
