The Who’s Tommy At Prairie Players Civic Theatre

The Who’s rock opera Tommy production will rock the Prairie Players Civic Theatre this weekend and next starting tomorrow night with a 7:30 show. In his directing debut, Scott Rasso, states the production came about from the Who’s fourth album that was meant to be listened to like a story:

“The Who was kind of in a low spot in their career. They were starting to think about other projects they could do without disbanding and he came across a spiritual mystic avatar that really gave him a different perspective on being enlightened and understanding love and spirituality on a completely different plane. He took that aspect of it and wrote the story that is semi-autobiographical,” Rasso shares.

There are six chances to catch the production, tonight and Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday afternoon at 2pm. Then next weekend, February 28 through March 1st, at the same times. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students.
