Timothy E. Hill, 71, of Galesburg, died at 3:18 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at home.

Tim was born December 26, 1948 in Galesburg, the son of Fred E. and Juanita L. (Cunningham) Hill. Tim is survived by his twin brother, Tom Hill of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Cosetta (Larry) Hammerlund of Galesburg and Sue Ellen (Gerald) Davis of Bella Vista, AR; a sister in law, Lorna Johnson of Bella Vista, AR; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by one brother, Kendall; and one sister, Mary (Roger) Showalter.

Tim graduated from GHS in 1968 and received his AAS from Carl Sandburg College in 1982. Tim served as a cook in the US Navy from 1969 to 1972. He then served 11 additional years in the Air National Guard of Illinois, and was honorably discharged October 4, 1989. He worked as a cook for many years at The Grandview Restaurant. Tim also spent a few years helping his brother Kendall build homes in Bella Vista, AR.

Tim was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking many meals at family gatherings. He loved to read, particularly the Bible. He was an extremely intelligent man and loved to complete crossword puzzles.

Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, with a gathering following the service at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials may be made to the family to assist with expenses. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
