Warren County Voter Registration Deadline

The traditional deadline for registering to vote in the March 17, 2020 primary election is February 18, 2020 Warren County Clerk Tina Conard announced today.
The registration requirements to be eligible to vote are:
· be a citizen of the United States;
· be at least 18 years old by Election Day; 17 year olds can vote in the primary if they will be 18 by November 3, 2020.
· have been a resident of the precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day.
When registering to vote, two forms of identification are required – one must show the current address of the applicant. A dated lease or contract for a residence is now an acceptable form of proof of a voter’s residence. Also, a photo identification card issued by a university or college and mail addressed to the voter (postmarked 30 days ago) at the address of residence is acceptable proof.
Voters in this election will vote for local offices, such as Circuit Clerk, States Attorney, Coroner, County Board seats, and Circuit Judge, along with State and Federal offices.
Eligible voters who miss the February deadline may register during Grace Period Registration that runs from February 19 through Election day March 17 , 2020. The law requires that during the th th grace period people must register at the county clerk’s office and – if they desire to vote in the March 17 primary election – must vote at the same time as registering to vote. Those people are not allowed th to vote at a polling place on the March 17 Election Day. th
Illinois residents may check their registration online by going to www.elections.il.gov and clicking “Voting and Elections” and then clicking “Am I Registered” at the top of the page or they may call the Warren County Clerk’s Office at 734-4612. If a voter has moved or changed their name within the last year they may not be eligible to vote, so please call the County Clerk’s Office to verify your eligibility. The County Clerk’s Office is open M – F 8am – 4:30 pm, except for holidays and will be open on the following Tuesday March 10 8 am – 7 pm and Saturday – March 14 from 8am – NOON or registration and th th voting .
