Mrs. Carole P. Jochimsen, 85, of Knoxville, Illinois died 3:57 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. 

She was born November 16, 1934 in Galesburg to William and Doris (Hazlett Collins) Pankey.  She married Thomas Jochimsen September 1, 1957 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death June 10, 2006.

Surviving are three daughters, Janet (and Keith) Brothers of Beaver Island, Michigan Anne (and Jorge) Saenz of Park Falls, Wisconsin, and Susan (and Gary) Gossett of Winter Haven, Florida, four grandchildren, Andrew (and Jaclyn) Derham, Matthew Brown, Eric (and Jalyn) Derham, and Lisa (and Jacob) Atchley, a step grandson, Kiley Brothers, and three great grandchildren, Loxley, Emma, and Ellis.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. 

Carole graduated from Roycemore High School, Evanston, Illinois in 1952.  She attended Knox College, Galesburg and the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin.  She was a homemaker taking care of her husband and three daughters and she was a farm manager for her family’s farms in Knox County.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Galesburg.  She was also a member of the Mosaic Club, PEO Chapter W, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, the Knox 50 Year Club, and Soangetaha Country Club.  Carole was an avid Wisconsin Badger and Chicago Bears fan. 

Private family service will be Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Pastor Pam Marolla will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville.  Memorials may be made to the St. Germain Fire Department in Wisconsin.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
