The CNC machine — affectionately nicknamed “Ellie” — is a sophisticated materials fabrication and machining tool. The machine was manufactured by Jupiter Machine Tool Inc. of Galesburg. It comes to the College as a generous gift from Midwest Bank.
Monmouth College is among the very few — if not the only — undergraduate liberal arts and sciences college in the nation to have such a piece of equipment.
Ellie will dramatically elevate the depth and intensity of instruction across our curriculum.
