Cottage Hospital Implements Added Precautions

Galesburg Cottage Hospital has implemented several precautions to keep their patients, staff, and community safe in preparing and preventing for a COVID-19 outbreak in the area. Visiting hours have been temporarily suspended and personnel are stationed at all entrances screening those going in and out. Drive thru testing with physician orders is also being done, says President and CEO Bob Moore:

“Under the Kellogg Street canopy, we have a team that is there is a physician orders, whether it be flu a or b, repiratory profiles, or if it is in fact COVID-19 testing, you drive up, we go out to the car with all the precautions that we need to take on our workers and the patient, we do the collection there then send the testing off for screening,” Moore reports.

All elective surgeries have been cancelled until after May 1st. Emergent and life altering surgeries are only being performed.
