Jamieson Center Food Pantry Is Open, Closed Public Areas

Jamieson Community Center provides food to several in the community and is continuing to do so, but is closing all their public areas, including the thrift store, to limit foot traffic. Director Nancy Mowen states the center is being proactive during the circumstances:

“We are also currently not accepting any donations of food, clothing, or household goods. Again, that is just to keep control over what comes in the doors,” Mowen shares.

Mowen states monetary donations are welcomed and needed and can be done online or by mail.

The Food Pantry at Jamieson Community Center is open and will remain open, but has added precautions to ensure availability to the community. Director Mowen has more:

“We are going to be moving the Food Pantry to our Community Room. We have started that process. That will just give us a little more space to box up food. We are asking people not to bring in containers. We will provide boxes for people. Again, abundance of caution. We are using good sanitation procedures and making sure our building is clean so that we can remain open. We are going to ask that we serve just one family at a time and that people wait in their cars until it is their turn,” reports Mowen.

The Food Pantry is open Tuesday through Friday 11:30 to 3:30 and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
