Local High School and Junior High Sports Update for Mar. 6, 2020

Junior High

The ICS Trojan 7th grade volleyball team won a class 1A regional championship in front of their home crowd at ICS Jr. High in Monmouth last night. The Trojans defeated Kewanee Visitation in straight sets, 25-15, 25-8. With the win, the ICS 7th grade improved their overall record to (19-1). They will take on (12-3) Williamsfield on Monday night at 6:30 on Williamsfield’s home floor at Williamsfield High School in the sectional championship. The winner of that match will move on to the IESA State Quarterfinals at Bloomington Junior High School on Friday, March 13th at 8:15.

The Macomb Bomber 7th grade volleyball team also won a regional championship in Canton last night. The Lady Bombers beat Pekin Edison 25-19, 25-7. They are (19-1) overall and will face (16-8) Quincy on Monday night at 6:30 at Washington Street Gym in Macomb in the sectional championship. The winner of Monday night’s match will then play in the class 4A State Quarterfinals in Normal next Friday night at 5:45.
