Mary K. McIntosh, 88, of Monmouth, IL, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 4:56 a.m. at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 21, 1932 in Warren County, IL the daughter of John and Anna Mary (Conard) Scott.  She was raised and educated in Warren County and graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1949.

Mary married Gene L. McIntosh at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Kirkwood, IL on April 11, 1951 and he died February 22, 2004.

Mary worked as a Supervisor at the Monmouth Telephone Company from 1947-1955.  She was a homemaker.  Mary also worked at Warren School and later United High School, first as a janitor and then for 33 years in the cafeteria as the head cook. She later worked as a night watchwoman before retiring in 2005.

She was a member of the Kirkwood Red Hatters and the Warren County Home Extension. She enjoyed needlepoint and quilt making.

Mary was an avid Warren High School Football supporter, where she was a fixture at all the games and their #1 fan.  She was later inducted into the United High School Hall of Fame.

Survivors include her four daughters, Diana Mackey of Media, IL; Twilia Sexton of Muldrow, OK, Shirley (Terry) Fluke of Avon and Kathleen (Bobby) Stotler of Monmouth; three sons, Roy McIntosh of Avon, IL, Rex McIntosh and Brian McIntosh both of Monmouth; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Sharon) Scott of Biggsville; and one sister in law, Janice Scott of Kirkwood, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Gary McIntosh; two granddaughters, Clarissa Mackey and Tammy Mackey; three grandsons, Ian Vasquez, Keegan McIntosh, and Dylan Miller; one brother, Melvin Scott and three sons-in-law Donny Sexton, Melvin Wilson, and Bob Cole.

Private graveside services will be held at Warren County Memorial Park with a public celebration of Mary’s life to take place at a later date. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, are in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the United High School Football Team or Rainbow Riders and left in the care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
