The effort is searching for a new location for the Warren County Jail is moving right along. Members of the Citizen Advisory Committee recently examined the dialysis building on US 67 North of Monmouth as a potential location. The Warren County Board subcommittees have all agreed on moving forward and having the Klinger Architectural Firm and HMM Architectural and Engineering to begin design work. Citizens Advisory Committee Chairman Chip Algren states the board is looking at two options:
“One of the options would be a design incorporating the former dialysis building. The second would be building a complex just on bare ground, so not using an existing building. They are also going to do cost estimates on both. This way we will be able to get a comparison as to whether or not there will be any significate savings by using an existing building as opposed to building something brand new,” Algren reports.
Design work and cost estimates are expected to be reported back within 60 days and will be presented to the Warren County Board.
