Terry Scalf, age 77, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 8:18 AM on
Tuesday March 10, 2020 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg,
Illinois. He was born October 1, 1942 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of
George Alexander and Alice Irene (Isreal) Scalf. Terry attended public
school in Monmouth and was a graduate of Monmouth High School in
1960.Terry proudly served his country during the Vietnam conflict as a
First Sgt. in the United States Army. On May 21, 1966, he married
Darlene Williams in Kirkwood, Illinois and she is surviving.
Terry worked for a time as a salesman for Archway Cookie, was known
locally selling automobiles for Prince Motors and Bruce Foote, and
finished his career as a furniture sales representative for various
companies in the Midwest.Terry was a member of the Monmouth Jaycees, a
founding member of the Roseville Jaycees, member of the Heritage Bible
Church in Monmouth, where he served as Elder, and chairman of Christian
Education, and member of Promise Keepers. He was also an active member
of the American Legion, serving as Post Commander from 2009-2011.
Terry is survived by his wife Darlene of Monmouth, Illinois, two sons;
Randal Scalf of Gurnee, Illinois and Michael “Mick” (Krista Ratley)
Scalf of Madison, Wisconsin, three grandchildren; Molly Scalf and
Harrison Scalf, both of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, and Nathaniel
Alexander Scalf of Madison, Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his
parents and grandparents.
A funeral service for Terry Scalf is planned for 10:30 AM on Saturday,
March 14, 2020 at Heritage Bible Church in Monmouth, Illinois.
Visitation is planned for 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2020 at
Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Memorials may be made to Heritage
Bible Church or the Lewy Body Dementia Association. Interment with
