Vicky Lyn Woods, 62, of Galesburg, died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg.

Vicky was born July 16, 1957 in Cheyenne, WY, the daughter of Harold Curtis and Opal Marie (Palmer) Bates.  She married Dale L. Woods on December 16, 1978 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on September 15, 2000.  Vicky is survived by two sons, Jon (Tiffany) Woods of Toulon and James (Lila) Woods of Monmouth; two daughters, Jennifer Woods of Galesburg and Jessica Coyer of Chanute, KS; 16 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.  Vicky is also survived a brother, Steve (Patsy) Bates of Galesburg; and a sister, Marilyn (Doug) Raver of Decatur.  Along with her husband, Vicky was preceded in death by her parents.

Much of Vicky’s life was spent as a homemaker.  She also had worked as a home health aid through Henry County Health Department as well as working for a few years at Jefferson-Smurfitt in Galesburg.  Vicky had an affinity for wolves and loved her dog, Chief.  She enjoyed listening to her husband’s band and tending to her garden.  Most of all, Vicky loved spending time with her family.  As her final act of kindness, Vicky wished to have her hair donated to Locks of Love.

Cremation will be accorded and no services are planned.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorial contributions may be made to Locks of Love, 234 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33405.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
