Kathleen E.” Kathy ” Scott, age 75, of Gladstone, Illinois; passed away
at 11:05 pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in the Emergency Room of Great
River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. She was born on October
24, 1944 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Warren Jack and Rena
Esther (Krow) Weaver. Kathy attended school in Henderson County and was a graduate of G&O High School with the Class of 1962. On June 24, 1964,
she married Lowell Wayne Scott in Gladstone, Illinois and he preceded
her in death on March 22, 2011. Kathy worked for a number of years at
Smoler’s in Monmouth. She then provided daycare for children in her own
home for 5 years. Lastly, she worked in the shipping department at
Wineguard in Burlington, IA for more than thirty years, retiring in
2013. She was a member of the Gladstone United Methodist Church. Mostly,
Kathy loved her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and caring for the
people she loved. Kathy is survived by two daughters, Tammy Haessler of
Fairfield, Iowa and Jodi Scott and Tony of Knoxville, Illinois, one son,
Ronald Scott and Dawn of Media, Illinois, eight grandchildren, and three
great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers; Bill (Marie)
Weaver, Mike (Karen) Weaver, and Denny (Annie) Weaver. She is preceded
in death by her parents and her husband.
Friends may call at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois on
Monday, April 6, 2020. A private graveside interment service is planned
on Tuesday April 7, 2020 in the Olena Cemetery. A memorial is being
