Mary L. Bushong, 89, of Monmouth, Il, passed away at 10:21 am, Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth IL
She was born Feb. 16, 1931 in Eleanor, IL the daughter of George Harold and Leona (Skidmore) Earp. She was raised and educated in the Little York, IL, area graduating from Little York High School in 1948.
Mary married Stewart E. Bushong in Gladstone, IL on June 3, 1950 and he passed away January 9, 2015
Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of Sugar Tree Grove Church. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, watching the squirrels and cardinals and mowing the grass.
Survivors include her children, Ed (Susan) Bushong, Patricia (Terry) Albin, Paula (Tim) Lay all of Monmouth, IL and Brad (Debra) Bushong of Kirkwood, IL; 8 grandchildren, Craig Bushong, Scott Bushong, Leslie Bridge, Daniel Bushong, Chad Hohner, Tricia Fischer, Brian Larson and Mary Beth Giddings; 2 step-grandchildren, Jessica Havelock and Justin Havelock; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; sisters Martha (Rod) Cook of Monmouth, Effie Boock of Little York, Leona (John) Lenz of Springfield, MO.; brothers, Robert Earp of Galesburgand Charles (Shirley) Earp of Monmouth; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Dustin Larson; sister, Parolee Themanson; and brother, Larry Earp.
Due to Covid- 19 virus precautions and restrictions A private family graveside service will be held at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth. Memorials may be given to Hospice Compassus or the Monmouth Nursing Home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
