Arrests Made in Criminal Damage Case in Burlington

On Sunday, April 19th, the Burlington Police Department received numerous complaints of criminal mischief to vehicles parked in the south hill area of Burlington.  Officers located more than 30 vehicles which had been damaged.  The total damage to vehicles was in excess of $10,000.  The Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division began investigating the incident. On Tuesday, May 12th, they arrested 20-year-old Jeremy Lee Hand, and 18-year-old Xavier Zane Sourwine, both of West Burlington, for Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree; which is a Class C Felony. Hand and Sourwine are being held at the Des Moines County Correctional Center on $25,000.00 bond pending a court appearance.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
