Debbra Kay Kern,70, Galesburg, died at 11:36 a.m. Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

She was born on May 11, 1949 in Galesburg, the daughter of Frank and Adele Kern. She is survived by her son Chris (Gina) Kern, and three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ethan, and Caroline all of Prosper, TX. She is also survived by siblings F. Daniel Kern and Jim (Dee) Kern of Galesburg, Mary Waller of Racine, Wi., Cheryl (Jeff) Stegall of Knoxville, and Julie (John) Palmgren, also of Galesburg and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her brother-in-law Ronald Waller  

She graduated from Costa Catholic High School in 1968 and Illinois Central College in 1972 with a Business Degree. She moved with her son to Atlanta to pursue her career in computer programming returning many years later to be near family.

Debbie loved all animals being especially fond of her dogs. She also enjoyed sewing and word games.

She will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date when family and friends can celebrate together.  Services have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to The Knox County Humane Society.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
