Fatal accident in Hancock County

A single vehicle fatal traffic crash occurred early Monday morning in Hancock County. According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened around 4:10am, on Warsaw Road, or County Highway 32, just East of County RD 650 North. A preliminary investigation indicates 29-year-old Joseph Krumey of Warsaw was traveling northeast on the Warsaw Road when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve. The vehicle veered right off the roadway struck a ditch with a rock ledge and overturned. Krumey was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in the car, 68-year-old Myron Beeler of Warsaw was pronounced dead at the scene. Krumey was charged with Reckless Homicide, Aggravated DUI, and Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Traffic Crash.
