Three United High School FFA Members have been announced as state winners for Agricultural Proficiency Awards, which honor FFA members who have developed specialized skills they can apply toward future careers through supervised agricultural experiences. On April 29th, via Facebook, the Illinois Association FFA announced all the state winners. From the United FFA Chapter, William Ornduff was awarded Ag Mechanics Design and Fabrication, Alec Thompson was awarded Ag Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Entrepreneurship, and Owen Jenks was awarded Diversified Crop Production Entrepreneurship. Other local winners include: Bradleigh Shafer and Logan Nodine from Cambridge; Owen Torrance from West Prairie; Sidney Stiers from Williamsfield; Taylor Main from ROWVA, Lucas Althaus from Alwood and Anna Wagner of Mercer County.
